AVP, Branch Manager – Pasadena

The AVP, Branch Manager will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, direction and goals for regional branches.  Accountable for the daily functioning of assigned branches, including scheduling and guiding staff, coaching performance, ensuring quality service to members, business development, and achieving business goals through the coordinated efforts of branch staff.
  • Responsible for the hiring, development, training and motivation of the branch staff.  Evaluates employee performance and quality of work on a regular basis, provides coaching and guidance, and completes and administers performance evaluations.
  • Provides training, direction and coaching of staff in fostering a sales and service culture.  Motivates staff in cross-sell activities.  Meets or exceeds operational objectives with regards to sales, service or financial objectives.
  • Insures the application and compliance of established operating policies and procedures of the credit union.
  • Reviews and approves loan applications within guidelines and authorization level.  Makes quality recommendations to the Executive Loan Officers for loans beyond loan limits.
  • Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication to branch staff of corporate and department goals, direction and values.

The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:

  • Post secondary degree in management or finance preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in branch management in a full-service financial institution
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in English

Additional Information:
This branch is currently open Tuesday thru Saturday and will potentially open Monday thru Saturday.  You must be available to work the operational hours of the branch.

Business Development Representative –  Los Angeles

The Business Development Representative will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Schedules and conducts membership drives and meetings with prospect company and sponsor group staff to promote First City products and services.
  • Attends community events, branch events, sponsor events, educational seminars, charitable events, etc.
  • Opens new member accounts, including shares and share draft accounts.
  • Responds to requests from sponsor groups and prospect companies/agencies for membership drives, sponsorships, giveaways, visitations, printed materials, etc.
  • Identifies, establishes and maintains relationships with companies and organizations in close proximity to First City branches that are good prospects for credit union services.
  • Maintains and enhances credit union “brand” and corporate identity by displaying a helpful, knowledgeable, trustworthy and thoroughly professional demeanor.
  • Maintains records of all activities and expenses, and provides monthly reports, with short-term and long-term objectives and results, to management.

The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Sales and/or business development experience in a commercial environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to speak effectively before large and small groups
  • Self-directed, enthusiastic and highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong sales aptitude
  • Highly professional demeanor and appearance
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to commute within a large demographic area.
